Relaxing MP3 5.1 Surround Nature Sounds?

I have begun experimenting with MP3 Surround Sound 5.1 for our nature and naturally soothing sounds. It has always been my desire to emulate; as accurately as we can, the experience of being in a real audio environment and not an idealized one. I would guess that quite a few people have surround sound in their homes these days but finding a nature sound company who can mix 5 or 6 distinctly different channels in such a way as to appear natural to our ears is next to impossible. I say 'next to impossible' as I have not found one yet. However, it is a big world and I can not be the only one who has ever thought of this. I have put some experimental loops together in 5.1 MP3 Surround Sound  that sound pretty good to me. So now, instead of using audio tricks to fool the ear into thinking sound is coming from behind you, the sound really will be behind you.

Will there be a market for nature sounds in Surround Sound? I don't know. Certainly people with higher end bedside audio (i.e. Bose) can benefit from it but that is not why I am experimenting with it. I guess I am doing it simply because it hasn't been done (to my knowledge). I will put out the initial MP3 surround sound files in about a month or so. MP3 Surround Sound 5.1 is backward compatible with standard MP3 files so if one does not own a surround sound system they would not notice a difference.

Note: I am quite pleased with the response to our new audio line we call Pure Ambiance. Coming up with soothing nature sounds in combination with one another has been a challenge but well worth the effort.  We will be adding many more sounds to Pure Ambiance over the next few months so stay tuned.
